Nothing but the rain
No there is no landing but I can see you
How you can move you
Come, you come down the stairs
And you walk in
And Roommate #1 comes in, with a bag
And there are some groceries
By the stove
And You put the stuff up
that she bought
Together several cans of
Soup fresh fruit and
Bread possibly…
(Mixed in with conversation
About the day
Your day how was it was it good
Tomorrow we’ll have soup
can we get a dog)
Then you make a hasty dinner
It’s late
Something for two people
sandwiches
Ham tomato
The door is open and I can hear you both laugh
*
The library has a ladder
Into the tops of books
You go
when you disappear
Where do you go
upstairs
(Into the shower) or where
There is another room
I guess
all the interior lights up
I see you hold your head
Now at a fireplace
the color of arms
No hat or a shirt
What are you doing there where are you
In the ironing sheer
Late in the sheer
And it’s Late it’s late and
Less of the things are coming true
The lights are knocked off
In the window
And I don’t know
where you are
*
—–
That afternoon that you called
What was I listening to
Basically no one
You forget
Stone hearts are like that no one likes them
An obscure band
No but I was Listening to movies in the background
I was at my window
And you were singing
*
I just wanted you to go on upstairs
And turn on the light
nothing like a room with a view
how is it from the lawn chair?
(this one reminds of the thrill of being someone’s fantasy…living on stage, because you know they’re watching)
